In business in general, those who are the quickest off the
mark often outcompete those with the greater resources.

Google started out in the basement of a house run by two
college kids, but through shear determination and true grit
it emerged from out of nowhere to overshadow it’s more
fancied rivals who had many more resources at their
disposal.

Now this is great for a 600 pound guerilla like Google,
but how does this apply to you?

Successful affiliate promotions require you to do more
than simply slap an affiliate link in an email and send it
out to your list. If you expect them to actually buy, your
email should be newsworthy and informational - not a
blatant hard sell promotion.

Yes. You need to sell the product, but you also need to
provide honest information to help your reader make an
informed decision.

If you can genuinely write your emaila as if you were
having an honest one-on-one conversation with a friend, you
are far more likely to draw interest than if you send a
link to a ‘must have’ new product.

Also, if there’s a big launch coming up, you need to check
it out and then plan your own campaign so you can
capitalize on its release.

You need to find product launches that qualify as an
‘event’ and then create interest and intrigue about the
product so your readers are eager for more information.

When you find a product that fits this criteria, it is
critical that you create your own pre-release buzz,
centered on the release of the product.

Most product large scale launches will generate interest
from a number of JV partners, so to get the sale you will
need to offer something unique in return for your potential
customers business.

A good way to clinch the deal is to offer an extra bonus
as a method of enticing your readers to purchase from your
link, and not your competitors.

Bonuses that have proven to be successful in the past
include offering a behind the scenes video of the product
(this is especially effective if it’s a membership
program), a physical product (such as a DVD series), or
something your readers can’t get anywhere else.

Video is also an extremely effective means of promoting
any product, so if you have the resources, I highly
recommend you do this. You will find your conversion rates
will be much higher.
